Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup cacao powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- chocolate chips, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Line the baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mash the bananas and add egg, peanut butter, and sugar. Mix well.
- In the same bowl, add the cacao powder, salt, baking powder, and chocolate chip (if using). Stir to combine.
- Add the batter to the baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until set and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Cool bars in the pan on a wire rack completely before slicing. Makes 9 bars.
Notes
The amount of sugar in this recipe is minimal, but you can add more sugar if you would like it sweeter.
You can sub out the peanut butter for any nut butter.
You can use a 9×9 square pan instead, but the bars will be thinner and you would need to adjust the baking time.
These bars need to cool in the pan completely before cutting into squares.
The recipe calls for 9 bars, but slice them up however big or small you would like.
